Welcome to the 21st Annual
North Shore Indoor Tournament
January 5 & 6, 2008

Bob Gamel, as a celebration of soccer and good sportsmanship, founded the tournament, one of the first of its kind.  1,800 children playing 390 games in 10 gymnasiums is a huge undertaking and it is not run for profit.  All players receive the same mementos for participation with keeper trophies awarded for the Most Sportsmanlike Team.

The North Shore Youth Soccer Association is pleased to be your host.  However, since there are only 16 Board members for over 11,000 players, we generally have our hands full with our regular responsibilities. That is the reason you are asked to be so involved in the running of the tournament.  Every team has some scorekeeping and concession duties.

Each team is given a colour and a number. There are three colours per gym, and all gyms have the same schedule.

  • Blue plays Saturday 8:00 - 12:00 & Sunday 9:00 to 2:30

  • Green plays Saturday 12:00 - 4:00 & Sunday 8:00 - 12:40

  • Red plays Saturday 4:00 - 8:00 & Sunday 2:30 - 5:40

  • Blue teams #1 & #2 are responsible for setting up the gym and concession stand Friday night

  • Team #3 in each colour group runs the gym whenever their colour group is playing.

  • Red teams #4 & #5 are responsible for cleaning up the gym on Sunday, and returning the equipment.

There are Guides (at the left) for Gym Coordinator, Set-up, Scorekeeper, and Concession duty.

In locations with two gymnasiums, the second gym uses the colours Orange, Black and Yellow.
