GYM COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES

One Gym Coordinator must be on site at all times. The task is to ensure the smooth running of the tournament. If there is a discrepancy with any decision during the tournament, the Coordinator's decision will RULE!! (How's that for some power!)

General

•  Overall safety is first and foremost.
• Ensure teams are fulfilling their commitments re scorekeeping and concession.
• Each team should have a mini first-aid kit (a more complete kit is in the carryall provided).

Games & Scoring

• Ensure all games start on time. Shorten games if necessary to maintain schedule.
• Ensure scorekeepers are present.
• Ensure fairness and safety during games: for example, parents aren't in the way, referees are treated fairly (and treat players fairly), etcetera.
• Retrieve scores from official scorekeeper at the end of each game.
• Post all scores and goals for/against (maximum differential of five, that is, 0 to 6 is recorded as 0 to 5) on the main scoreboards. Apply goal average formula to decide point ties after the round robin games. Still tied flip a coin.
• ONLY THE GYM COORDINATOR MAY WRITE ON THE MAIN SCOREBOARD.

Concession

• Ensure that the 50/50 happens (delegate to concession or whomever you wish).

  11:00 a.m.	11:00 a.m.
  2:30 p.m.	2:00 p.m.
  6:00 p.m.

• Announce and record winning ticket numbers on 50/50 Board. Payout ½ of money to winners & ½ to concession float cash box. Any winnings unclaimed by 6:00 p.m. Sunday will be kept by NSYSA.
• If you run out of an essential you may send someone to the store and pay them out of the till. Leave the receipt and mark on it what it was for and the quantity to help for ordering next year

Finals

•  Introduce sponsors or yourself at the end of each medal round to give out medals (medals to 4/5, medals to loser of 2/3, and medals to 1 and winner of 2/3).
• Ensure floor is cleared in time for next scheduled game.

End of Day

• Ensure that the concession float is passed securely to first shift Sunday morning.
• Ensure all areas are left tidy.
• Return Coordinator's handbook to carryall for Sunday morning or after finals.
